Being Calm & Confident
Being calm is the quality of serenity and peace of mind. It gives us a clear, mental focus which helps to improve concentration, decision making, and intuition. Yet, there’s a common misunderstanding where people often associate calmness with passivity, submissiveness, or lack of energy. Rather the opposite is true; by being calm we establish inner strength and confidence. The more calm and centered we are, the easier it is for us to stay confident; and the more confident we are, the more we feel calm even in high pressure situations. Being calm helps improve our ability to focus on the right things, at the right time, and in the right way.
How can we create calmness and self-confidence? The fastest, most effective way to gain confidence is to learn how to eliminate negative thinking which only generates feelings of fear and anxiety. When we become aware of the quality of our thoughts, we can consciously choose to eliminate any unproductive or scattered thinking. The more we can substitute positive thinking for negativity, the more confident and successful we feel. When we’re calm and centered within ourselves, we develop a greater sense of awareness and inner peace which greatly improves our lives.
